3. Offensive line

The biggest reason the running backs will not get going is the offensive line. As much as they struggle to create for themselves, the offensive line is giving them nothing. They are giving Nagy no reason to trust in them.

Kyle Long went down and fans did not think that would hurt. Long was not play well at all, no one is denying that. However, to assume that Rashad Coward would make any noticeable difference was a stretch. Coward is a UDFA who was a former defensive lineman, The only game snaps he had in the preseason were at right tackle.

When the Bears extended Bobby Massie, it seemed as though it was a bit of a stretch of faith in his age. The team may be regretting that decision. Still, they have no depth behind any of these players.

Depth on the offensive line was always the team’s biggest weakness. However, it seemed as though fretting over offensive line depth was not a big deal. We have learned that this is not the case.
