Could you imagine the fan reaction if Tom Brady ended his tenure with the New England Patriots and decided to play for the Chicago Bears in 2020?

I have to be dreaming right? Since when did the NFL become a fantasy football redraft league? Are people really talking about the idea that the Chicago Bears could land Tom Brady after the 2019 season? Could Tom Brady be the one-year mentor Mitchell Trubisky needs to sit behind in order to become the franchise quarterback we all hoped he would become?

I was surprised to hear this nonsense came from the Golic and Wingo show this morning on ESPN. I could see some random fan saying this on social media and then the post or tweet goes viral. That is more understandable to me. The problem now is that a legitimate sports news source floated this idea out there. After a week where Mitchell Trubisky played poorly I may add.

This comes at the heels of the Chicago Bears being embarrassed again. This time, coming off the bye week and facing a New Orleans Saints team that is missing Drew Brees and Alvin Kamara. The panic is high in Chicago right now. Fans are clamoring for a new quarterback, and they want to see it happen before next Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.

Let me be frank with you for a minute. Do not expect Ryan Pace to make a trade for a quarterback before next Tuesday. If they do, whoever he might be will not be some saving grace for this offense. More problems exist for this team than just Mitchell Trubisky. Whoever they are able to trade for is unlikely to be any better than Trubisky is for this team.

I know, I know. You all want Cam Newton. I have said this over and over, Cam Newton is not going to be any better in this offense. He is essentially the same quarterback as Mitchell Trubisky. Josh Rosen could be a trial and error selection, but do we truly believe he is going to be the answer because he’s on his third team in less than two years?

How about Nick Foles? No thanks again. Marcus Mariota? Please stop. Okay, what about bringing in Tom Brady next season? Well, wait. Now you might be onto something.

See what is going to happen? All of those other quarterbacks have huge question marks. Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game. Chicago Bears fans are in panic mode regarding their quarterback. Giving this possibility any sense of false hope for 2020 is just cruel to Bears fans, even if it was not a truly serious comment on the show.

Next. 4 players Bears could trade. dark

The fan comments are already flowing with excitement about the possibility of this happening. I am here to tell you, Tom Brady in a Chicago Bears uniform in 2020 is a fantasy. Do not get your hopes up Bears fans.
