The Chicago Bears do not have a first-round pick in the 2020 draft. Here are some quarterbacks they should target in the second round.

The Chicago Bears performance last week was awful. The entire offense, outside of Allen Robinson, once again looked lost. Mitchell Trubisky might have played the worst game of his career. He had horrible footwork which led to bad mechanics. He was not stepping up into the pocket at all and missed a few key throws.

During and after the game, fans turned on Mitchell Trubisky. Comments about him being a bust seemed to be everywhere. Angry Chicago Bears fans were sounding off on the ide of benching him for Chase Daniel. Others were screaming for Ryan Pace to make a trade for a quarterback. Names like Cam Newton, Marcus Mariota and Nick Foles have been among the top wanted candidates.

Analysts (specifically Trubisky and Bears hater, Mike Lombardi) have come out with claims that if the Chicago Bears do not find another option at quarterback, Matt Nagy might be out of a job. A few others have said it will cost both Nagy and Ryan Pace their jobs.

This notion that either Ryan Pace or Matt Nagy will be out of a job in a year is ridiculous. If the Chicago Bears make a trade before October 29, 2019, I would be shocked if it was for a quarterback. Personally, I expect the team to ride out the rest of the season with Mitchell Trubisky. If he improves, great. If not, they will address the problem in the offseason.

Let us suggest that Trubisky does not turn things around. Then, in the offseason, I would expect the Chicago Bears to sign a veteran free agent. This could be anyone along the lines of Philip Rivers, Teddy Bridgewater or Marcus Mariota. On top of that, I would still expect Ryan Pace to draft a quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Now, if Mitchell Trubisky turns things around and looks more like the 2018 version or better, then I would not expect Pace to sign a free agent in the offseason. However, I would still expect him to draft a quarterback. Remember, Pace is the one who said that a team should draft a quarterback every year. Well, as of now he has drafted one. He needs to draft his second next season.

Since the Chicago Bears do not have a first-round pick, I expect them to look long and hard at the quarterbacks who may be there in the second round. With little to no draft capital, I cannot imagine them combining their two second-rounders to move up into the first. That said, Ryan Pace has done things similarly in the past. We cannot put it past him to move up for a quarterback.

With the assumption the Bears stand pat with their two second-rounders, here are a few guys who may be available that Ryan Pace should look at possibly drafting. Remember, the college season is still in full swing and guys could rise and fall between now and the NFL Draft.
