Even the Chicago Bears kicker was confused by Matt Nagy’s late game decision making
The Chicago Bears lost another game due to a missed field goal. I know, this year the finger pointing is going all around and not just to the kicker. Still, it is devastating to see that while the team regressed in  many areas this year, they still did not even get the kicker position solved. That is what they spent the whole offseason working on.
Of course, after the missed 41-yard kick by Eddy Pineiro, his second miss of the game, Pineiro did not get the Cody Parkey treatment. Instead, Bears fans immediately shifted the blame to Matt Nagy.
Nagy knelt on the ball the minute they got into field goal range, and did not try to pick up any extra yards to make his kickers life easier.
As it turns out, Nagy did not even listen to his kicker when it came to the position of the ball, either.
When asked if that is the spot on the field that Pinerio wanted to kick from, he said that he would have liked it somewhere else.
Did Eddy Pineiro want ball on left hash for Bears' missed FG? 'I didn't. But, I mean, it is what it is.'https://t.co/86cx5SOEwc pic.twitter.com/KgMmu9WG1S

When pressed later about it, he said that he should not have said that and did not want to get into it. But it had already been said. With the cat out of the bag, he was pressed longer and eventually let it be know that he would have preferred the ball in the middle of the field.
You can take this two ways. One, Pinerio has to make that and it does not matter what hash it is on. He is a professional kicker and that is a makeable kick. Two, if Nagy was kneeling out the game, why not ask Pinerio where he wants it? Why not have Trubisky slide to steps right and then knee? It was all about getting it in range for the kicker right? Get it where the kicker wants it. Nonetheless, kicking stories in Week 8 is not what Bears expected this summer when Nagy said he was going to get it right.
