In a must-win week when the Packers, Vikings and Lions all lost, the Chicago Bears fell flat on their faces once again. With only three wins in eight games, the season is basically over.
No. I am not here to tell you the Chicago Bears need to cut Mitchell Trubisky. Sorry, but as bad as Trubisky has been, this team has many problems on offense. Honestly, the defense was not any better either. We cannot give them a pass for how poorly they played at times against the Eagles. Two long drives in the second half did not help this team have a chance in another winnable game.
This season has been bad. It starts all the way at the top. Ryan Pace looks to have made a terrible decision drafting Trubisky. Matt Nagy cannot keep his team focused or disciplined. The defense has been good, but not great. Trubisky has been very inconsistent and mostly bad. The offensive line has struggled. Receivers are dropping passes and the tight end position, do they even have a tight end on this team?
Now that the year is essentially over, the team needs to just go out and play loose. Just let them play some fun, backyard type nonsense and do not even worry about the score. If they lose 20-18 or 50-0, a loss is a loss. Just see who has what it takes to be on this team again next season. Which players should get the boot instead?
Well, I can tell you for sure, that the Bears do not need to wait until next season to cut these two players. One is a must release and the other is just wasting space on this team and delaying the inevitable for 2020.
