Bronco Nagurski

The bobblehead that was given away in Week Four, when the Bears played the Minnesota Vikings, was Bronco Nagurski. Nagurski came to the Bears in 1930 and played with the team from 1930 to 1937. He played very well during his tenure with the Bears and helped make them one of the better football teams of the ’30s.

Known for his size, he was larger than most football players at the time he played. Nagurski played was primarily a running back during the time but he also had attempted some passes. There were some times he also played on the offensive line.

One of the greatest to ever to play the game, Nagurski even came out of retirement during World War II to help the Bears make it through that tough period. He played in just the 1943 season. After his football career, he took up a career in wrestling and had some success there.

Nagurski was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in its first class in 1963.
