Walter Payton

Handed out during the October 20th game against the New Orleans Saints, this has to be one of the more popular bobbleheads of the bunch.

Payton is easily the Bears’ best player of all time.

We all know what he was like as a player and as a person. He had, at one time, led the NFL in rushing yards. He had scored many touchdowns and was the epitome of great health and longevity. He missed just one game during his career, spent entirely with the Bears and was ironman tough. He was an idol to many.

Payton was also human and it wasn’t long after his retirement, and induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, that Payton contracted a rare liver disease that took his life in 1999.

He was gone way too soon.

Payton leaves behind a legacy that so many people remember fondly. Payton represents the good days of the Bears. The days when the team was filled with stars and was winning games (although Payton played in some losing seasons). People still admire him and think of him as the greatest Bear of all to this day.
