The Chicago Bears are welcoming the Detroit Lions into Soldier Field on Sunday. Here are four bold predictions for our beloved Bears.
The Bears offense has struggled throughout the first half of the NFL season. The team finds themselves with a 3-5 record and a faltering fanbase. The national media is against this team and especially Mitchell Trubisky. Trubisky made a snarky comment at a recent press conference saying he is going around trying to have all the televisions turned off at Halas Hall.
Why might you ask? Well, he is tired of hearing everyone speak negatively about this team. Personally, I cannot blame him. I also do not think he was being truthful. I think he was just making a snide joke. That said, I do believe he is trying to drown out the noise because internally, it seems that every player still supports Trubisky, at least publicly.
Matt Nagy has shown some growth over the last two games with his play calling. He has installed more I formation plays into his playbook. A playbook that did not have any of these formations in them to start the season. He proved he learned his lesson by running three straight running plays in the red zone to score a touchdown from the one-yard line versus the Eagles.
Unfortunately, the first rushing attempt was given to Tarik Cohen. Cohen was expected to run straight up the middle. This was not the smartest personnel for this play as Cohen is 5’6″ and weighs less than 200lbs. Could it be that the Bears finally worked out their kinks and now they find themselves turning the corner just in time to push for the playoffs?
Here are the bold predictions I am throwing out there for the game versus the Lions.
