This Sunday, the Chicago Bears will have their third divisional matchup of the season when they host the Detroit Lions at Soldier Field. The Bears (3-5) are on a four-game losing streak, and are currently on the outside looking in when it comes to earning a wild card spot for this year’s playoffs.

With the exception of their Week 3 win over the Washington Redskins, Chicago has yet to have a game where they had everything clicking at once. The offense is still trying to find its identity, while the defense has had some underachieving moments due to the offense’s inability to stay on the field long enough. Even the special teams unit has had crucial hiccups here and there.

As for the contest against the Lions, their biggest obstacle might be quarterback Matthew Stafford. Entering Week 10, Detroit’s signal caller is the NFL’s fourth-leading passer with 2,499 yards, and has spearheaded an offense that is third in passing (295.2 yards per game), and fifth in overall offense (391.2).

For the second consecutive year, the Bears will be facing the Lions twice in the month of November. Last year, Chicago beat Detroit in both meetings, and are hoping to do the same in 2019. As each week passes, the more important it is for the Bears to start a winning streak. And with the loser of this game gaining sole possession of last place in the NFC North, this contest is hands down the most crucial one for Chicago.

Will the Bears climb out of the cellar in the division? We’ll have to watch and see this Sunday afternoon. In addition, here are five other things we should watch during this contest.
