The Chicago Bears caught a huge break with the Matthew Stafford injury. Can they take advantage?

Despite the Chicago Bears four-game losing streak, the team should have optimism coming into their game against the Lions. The Lions are a team that they can handle and are the worst team of the group of teams Chicago has lost too.

The biggest question in being able to beat Detroit was Matthew Stafford. Stafford is having the best year of his career no matter how you look at it. He is playing efficient and explosive down the field.

Still, he has taken plenty of hits. Stafford is a warrior, and any Bears fan can at least admit that. He plays through a lot.

That is why it was surprising to hear that he would be held out of Sundays game with the Bears. In fact reports were that the medical staff would not let him play, it was not in Staffords control.

Still, this sets up for a great opportunity for Chicago to steal a win. The offense of Chicago has been putrid. Still, they should be able to run the ball on Sunday.

Even if they do not score, the fear was that Stafford would put up just enough their defense that the offense would need to keep up. That would hurt the Bears chances.

Now, the Bears get to see Jeff Driskel. The Lions have no run game to speak of at the moment. Looking at Driskel and no run game against the Bears defense should equal something close to a shut out. Multiple turnovers, and potentially points off of turnovers.

Even if the offense struggles, and scores one touchdown, that should be enough today. The Bears cannot lose this game now considering the heart and soul of the Lions offense is gone.
