Danny Trevathan has been playing great football this season for the Chicago Bears. Unfortunately, he handed very awkwardly on his left arm and what happened next was very ugly. He will likely miss some time, but Bears could add one of these linebackers for more depth.

The Chicago Bears snapped a four-game losing streak on Sunday when they beat a Matthew Stafford-less Detroit Lions team. The win was not very pretty, but it was a win nonetheless. Not to mention, most divisional games are played closer than non-divisional games. Mitchell Trubisky bounced back with a three-touchdown performance and the defense held the Lions to 13 points.

The game might not have been pretty, but a win is a win in the NFL. The Bears have to make a statement by winning at least two of their next three games to have a chance at pushing for a Wild Card spot.

Up next for the Bears is another team that is struggling this season. The team travels to Los Angeles to play the Rams on Sunday night. The Rams are struggling this season as well after they lost 17-12 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sean McVay’s offense has been hit or miss this season. Can the Bears find a way to outplay last year’s NFC Champions?

This might be a difficult task as it looks like the win over the Lions might come at a price. Danny Trevathan landed awkwardly on his left arm and it bent in a way it should not have bent. Stacey Dales reported that Trevathan will have an MRI at some point today. He left the locker room with his left arm stabilized in a sling. Trevathan told Dales that he has been through worse.

If you saw the replay of what happened to Trevathan’s arm, you will know that he is likely going to miss some time. My uneducated guess is that Trevathan’s season might be done unless the Bears make a playoff run. Even that might not be enough time for that arm to heal. Ouch.

The Bears have depth at inside linebacker though. Nick Kwiatkowski played well again in relief. He stepped up with the Bears were without Roquan Smith in Week 4 against the Vikings. The Bears came away with a victory in that game also and held Dalvin Cook to under 40 yards rushing.

Kwiatkowski will be a very serviceable replacement to finish out the season for the Bears, but if Trevathan is out for an extended period of time, the Bears should consider adding one of these other linebackers off the street for some depth.
