1. Offense Needs to Play Like it is 2018

The Bears offense showed glimpses of the 2018 season against the Lions, however, there were still rough patches throughout the game. The first four possessions were a disaster with roughly only 20 yards gained.

If this offense can find its rhythm and Matt Nagy can stop being stubborn, then this team can score enough points for a win. When they were in rhythm, look how confident Mitchell Trubisky was.  It will give the defense much-needed rests and in turn, will build up their energy to dominate their opponents.

Remember Matt Nagy’s play-calling from 2018?  All the trickery and confusion would have opposing defenses on their toes. How excited as a fan were we when we saw a Chicago Bears defender lining up in the backfield? This year, teams have found ways to stop Nagy’s play-calling in its tracks.

However, if the Bears offense can find that spark then it could open Nagy’s playbook a little more. I’m not saying Nagy should open up everything because that will cause Mitchell Trubisky to regress even more. If he can call plays that showcase Mitch’s strengths and builds his confidence, then he could have the option to dive in the playbook a little deeper.  A confident and comfortable quarterback is any coach’s dream.
