Ryan Pace looked like a genius last season. All the moves he made in his tenure in Chicago led to the Chicago Bears great season last year. However, things have come down to earth.

The Chicago Bears are currently 4-5 this season. A team that was a playoff favorite before the year began took a big step back in the first 9 games of the season. The Bears went a month between wins this year when a 3-1 record turned into a 3-5 record a few weeks ago.

Even though Chicago won this weekend against the Lions, this team is far from perfect. Chicago is barely winning games against weak opponents no less. If the Bears plan to succeed going into the 2020 season something needs to change. Which is why Chicago needs to retool this team over the offseason if they want to contend again next year.

The Bears could bounce back. They still have most of the pieces they had last season when they had a magical year, or they could add even better players to the mix and really compete for a championship.

Ryan Pace has some flexibility heading into free agency and the draft. The team will likely shake things up in key areas. The question is, who stays and who goes. What do they do with Mitchell Trubisky and his looming contract? This will be a pivotal time in this team’s window of opportunity.

At the end of the day, I think the Bears are only missing a few pieces, if they can fill a few holes they can turn this team from good to great very quickly. With that in mind let’s take a look at a few key fixes the Bears can make this offseason in order to get back on track.

We all want to see the Bears succeed again, I think it will take less to get there then most are thinking.
