It was announced that Colin Kaepernick will be hosting a private workout for all 32 NFL teams on Saturday. Do not get your hopes up though Bears fans, he will not be coming to Chicago.

The NFL decided to reach out to Colin Kaepernick‘s representatives and give him an opportunity to hold a workout for all 32 NFL teams, including the Chicago Bears. Here is the thing though, they decided to host it on a Saturday. According to Michael Silver, the event will take place at the Atlanta Falcons facility.

The Bears have had many offensive struggles this season and although Mitchell Trubisky showed us more flashes in the win over the Lions, the team needs to do their due diligence and show up for this Kaepernick workout. Maybe, just maybe Kaepernick will wow them enough that Ryan Pace decides to extend him a contract. This is a big maybe though.

We need to look at the facts here that Michael Silver lays out. This whole workout is just a ploy by the NFL to try and save some public relations face with some fans. The whole thing is obviously a PR stunt and trust me when I tell you Kaepernick knows this. He will be doing his best though anyway because why would he not? He wants to play in the NFL and this might be his last shot.

The biggest reason this whole thing is a joke is how rushed everything is being done. Kaepernick was apparently notified yesterday about the workout and had only two hours to decide if he was willing to accept the invitation according to Silver. The worst part is that the workout had to be on this Saturday. The date could not be changed. Not even the time could be changed.

With the workout being on a Saturday, do not expect General Manager Ryan Pace to attend. He will likely send a scout or two in his place. These scouts are not able to make any decisions and will have to relay what they see to Pace. This alone hurts the entire process. I cannot blame Pace for not attending though. The team is going to Los Angeles to face the Rams on Sunday night.

Now, even if Pace did somehow find a way to be at this workout, Kaepernick is going to have to look lightyears ahead of where Trubisky is right now for them to even consider it. Coming off a win over the Lions and a three-touchdown game by Trubisky, the Bears are not going to be seriously interested in Kaepernick.

I am here to tell you, for those who want to see Colin Kaepernick in a Bears uniform, you will be greatly disappointed. I am going to go out on a limb here and say the odds of that happening are less than 10 percent. I do hope he gets a shot though. Maybe on another team like the Cincinnati Bengals who are trying to find a way to keep fans in attendance but also tank for the top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
