David Montgomery suffered an ankle injury in the Chicago Bears practice this week. He is questionable for Sunday

Earlier this week David Montgomery popped up on the injury report. Head coach Matt Nagy brushed it off as a minor practice injury to his ankle. Still, when you hear running back and ankle, you have to be nervous.

Now, Montgomery has not practiced all week and is officially a questionable game-time decision.

If we have learned one thing over the years, it is not to trust Nagy when it comes to injuries. He downplays every injury to the fullest extent. Everyone will be back soon and nothing is serious or a big deal.

With that in mind, are we really trusting a rookie with an ankle injury and no practice is more likely than not to play? It does not sound good, and the track record of Nagy says he could be downplaying the severity of a minor ankle injury.

The timing is impeccable. While the release of Mike Davis is still the absolute right decision, it would have been nice to have him around if the Bears knew an injury to their starter may pop up.

Tarik Cohen is his own position. It is hard to say he steps right into the Montgomery role, although he would surely see more rushing work.

An injury to Montgomery means that we are likely to see a lot of Ryan Nall, who was called up from the practice squad when Davis was let go.

Next. Bears must add this player from practice squad. dark

Nall is a fan favorite for his versatility and downhill power. However, he lacks juice and is a limited overall player.

Do you think Montgomery will play and how concerned are you that Nall and Cohen will have to run straight at a defensive line led by Aaron Donald? Are you more concerned that Nagy will go-to an all pass playbook?
