The Chicago Bears face off against Daniel Jones and the New York Giants at Soldier Field this Sunday.

The Chicago Bears meet the New York Giants for the first time this season in a Week 12 matchup at Soldier Field.

Look, I know it’s pretty much over for the Bears, but they haven’t been officially eliminated just yet. So anything can happen. I just don’t know how many Bears fans will be watching the game, but I know I will be.

The History Behind Bears vs Giants

This is the 52nd matchup between these two teams, dating all the way back to the 1920s. The Bears have a 33-24 record all-time against the Giants. In 1934, they played during the NFL championship game at polo grounds in New York City.

They also met each other during the championship game in 1941, which was played at Wrigley Field in Chicago. This just happened to be 14 days after the Japanese hit Pearl Harbor. In 1946, they met again in the NFL championship game. As you can see both teams were good back in the 1940s with how many times they met up in the championship game.

Bears fans should remember that they also met during the Bears Superbowl run in 1985, as both teams matched up against each other in the divisional round. The Bears went on to win that game by a final score of 21-0.

A lot of great memories between these two teams and a lot of history.

The Present

Now let us focus on the matchup this Sunday between these two teams at Soldier Field.

Both teams are pretty much the “laughing” stock of the NFC and have nothing to lose.

The Giants started out the season 0-2 with Eli Manning as their starting quarterback, and then made the switch to rookie Daniel Jones. Jones made his first career NFL start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After making 8 starts, Jones and the Giants sit at 2-8.

The Bears season has just gone terribly wrong. The offense has regressed from last year, and Mitchell Trubisky has regressed even more. However, the Bears season is not over yet, so anything can happen. Trubisky may not even play in this game after suffering a “hip” injury last week against the Rams. We may be stuck watching Chase Daniel. That is rough.

I predict that the Chicago Bears will walk away with a win by a final score of 21-7 and will improve to 5-6 on the year. The Bears need to keep winning so that the Raiders don’t end up with a top 10 draft pick. Go Bears.
