Mistakes made by Mitchell Trubisky

Quarterbacks are going to make mistakes at times. Even the best ones do. Tom Brady will throw the occasional pick. Aaron Rodgers will sometimes overthrow his receiver. The difference though is that Mitchell Trubisky is not as consistent as the top quarterbacks in the league.

Bears fans witnessed this firsthand on Sunday. Trubisky looked dominant at times, yet he still found a way to throw two interceptions in this game. It seems the first one was partly on Trubisky and partly on the receiver, yet this seems to happen too often in my opinion. Pull it down and take a sack, run it the best you can or throw it away in order to live another day. Trubisky did not do any of these and the Bears once again left points on the field.

Later in the third quarter, Trubisky tried to throw a deep ball to Javon Wims. Unfortunately, the throw was horribly underthrown and the safety found himself a very easy interception. Trubisky needs to clean these things up as he finds himself with six interceptions on the season and only 10 touchdown passes. Those numbers are just not good enough.

The interceptions were not the only mistakes Trubisky made in this game. He made some bad reads. The very first drive of the game, he tried forcing a ball to Allen Robinson on third down instead of hitting Ben Braunecker who was more open and around the first down marker. He needs to do a better job making the right decision early. He finished with a 69 quarterback rating.

The team and Trubisky now find themselves with a very short week this week as they must prepare to play the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving day. Hopefully, Trubisky can clean things up quickly and repeat his prior performance when the Lions and Bears met a few weeks ago.
