For the second consecutive year, the Chicago Bears will be headed to the Motor City to face the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day. These two teams recently met in Week 10, where the Bears (5-6) prevailed over the Lions by the score of 20-13 at Soldier Field.

Having already beaten Detroit, Chicago will do everything possible to make sure that they sweep their division rival for the second season in a row. Doing so would not only put the Bears back at .500 for the first time since Week 7, but it will also keep their ever-so-slim chances of making the postseason alive.

Once again, Chicago’s defense will be facing a Detroit offense that will be without their franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford. In his place, we thought it would be Jeff Driskel, who threw for 269 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against the Bears in Week 10. However, Driskel is battling a hamstring injury, and will take a back seat to undrafted rookie quarterback David Blough. This will be Blough’s first action in his NFL career, and he’ll have to make his debut against one of the league’s best defenses.

In addition to the one pick Driskel threw against Chicago, the Bears’ defense also recorded two sacks and several deflected passes. The way the Bears’ pass rush looked last week against the New York Giants, expect Blough to be under much pressure Thursday afternoon. This should happen even more so with Khalil Mack looking like he’s rounding back into All-Pro form.

It’s pretty much a given that we can expect good things from the Monsters of the Midway on the defensive side of the ball. So the main focus for this game will be all about the offense’s production, and their ability to adapt with some new faces in certain spaces. Here’s the five things we should watch for on Thanksgiving Day.
