2019 Chicago Bears Week 13 Report Card vs. Detroit Lions
For the second year in a row, the Chicago Bears traveled to the Motor City to face the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day. And for the second year in a row, the Bears gave their faithful fans something to be thankful for with a 24-20 win over their division rival. With this victory, Chicago improves their record to 6-6, are at the .500 mark for the first time since Week 7, and are still in the hunt for a wild card spot in the playoffs.
Surprisingly, the Bears’ offense outshined the defense in this contest. By game’s end, the offense gained a total of 419 yards from scrimmage (a season-high), and scored on their first drive of the game for only the second time this season. In addition, the offense drove down the field late in the fourth quarter to score the game-clenching touchdown.

Defensively, Chicago struggled early, surrendering two touchdown passes to undrafted rookie quarterback David Blough in his NFL debut. For the game, Blough threw for 280 yards, but the defense did seal the deal with a late interception in the fourth quarter. In addition, the Bears recorded two sacks on the afternoon.
Having played this game this past Thursday, the Bears fortunately have another full week to prepare for their next contest, which will be against the declining Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football. But before we look ahead to next week’s game, let’s take a look back at Chicago’s much-needed win and view their report card from Week 13 against the Lions.
