The Chicago Bears keep their playoff hopes alive as they went on to defeat Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football at Soldier Field. The Bears absolutely needed this win to stay alive for a playoff spot, and they came into this game with winning three out of their last four.

Both teams were looking to stay in playoff contention. The Dallas Cowboys came into this game at 6-6 and leading the NFC East, while the Bears were also 6-6 and sitting in 3rd place in the NFC North.

To start the game, the Cowboys ended up receiving the ball first, and the Bears defense just couldn’t stop the Cowboys offense. Ezekiel Elliott dominated the first drive and ended up giving the Cowboys the lead in the first quarter.

It was 7-0 before Mitchell Trubisky even saw the field. Unfortunately on his opening drive of the game, he ended up throwing an interception to Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis. The opening drive for the Bears was frustrating but after that interception, it was a completely different day for Trubisky.

After going down 7-0 in the first quarter, the Bears offense rattled off 24 unanswered points. Starting off with Trubisky finding none other than Allen Robinson to tie things up at 7-7.

Heading into the second quarter it was all Bears at that point. Eddy Pineiro hit a 36 yard field goal, and Trubisky ended up finding Robinson for his second touchdown in the game. As the Bears went into halftime with the lead 17-7. Trubisky and the offense looked great the first half of the game. But they had to keep their foot on the gas and not let Dallas come back and tie things up in the second half.

The Bears received the ball coming out of the half and Trubisky continued his dominance. His first drive in the second half, he found Anthony Miller for a 14-yard touchdown, which would extend the Bears lead 24-7.

Dallas tried to come back as Ezekiel Elliott found the endzone for his second touchdown of the game, but when the Bears got the ball back, Trubisky used his legs and scrambled out of the pocket and into the endzone for a 23-yard rushing touchdown.

After that, it was pretty much the game as the Chicago Bears went on to defeat the Cowboys by a final score of 31-24. Bears extended their winning streak to three games.

The Bears are now 7-6 and still in 3rd place in the NFC North, but their playoff hopes are still alive. Regarding Trubisky, I wonder if his performance in the last couple of weeks has changed people’s minds and thoughts about him? I mean it’d be hard to imagine the Bears not picking up his 5th-year option during the offseason.

Do you see how Trubisky does when he uses his legs and scrambles outside the pocket? Like why haven’t we seen him do that all year? The Bears would definitely be in a different position if Trubisky played like he has been all year.

Trubisky continued his hot streak with the Bears win, but the team’s biggest game of the season comes next week as they will travel to Green Bay to take on Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Will Trubisky stay rolling against a tough Packers defense? We shall see.
