For the second time this season, the Chicago Bears are riding the momentum of a three-game winning streak—thanks in part to their Thursday night 31-24 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. This win puts the Bears (7-6) over the .500 mark for the first time since Week 5. Furthermore, this much-needed win keeps Chicago in the hunt for a wild card spot for the postseason.

Things looked shaky at the start of the game, with Dallas marching down the field for 75 yards and a touchdown on their opening drive. But the Bears would respond with 24 unanswered points through the third quarter.

Despite turning the ball over twice, the offense continued to look like they’re finally starting to find their groove, gaining a total of 382 yards from scrimmage. This is the third game in a row that the offense has gained over 300 total yards, and this is the most points they have put up all season long.

Although the Cowboys’ yardage total doesn’t show it (thanks to garbage time), Chicago’s defense held the NFL’s top overall offense and top passing offense in check. The Bears’ pass rush kept pressure on quarterback Dak Prescott, while their run defense prevented running back Ezekiel Elliott from reaching the century mark on the ground. And all of this was done with four key starters out of the lineup.

With an extra few days to rest, the Bears now have to get ready for the homestretch of the regular season. In addition to needing to win out, Chicago also needs some help from other teams in order to make it to the playoffs. Hopefully, things will go their way on both ends. As for now, let’s take a gander at the report card of possibly the Bears’ best game of the season thus far.
