Aaron Jones and Jamal Williams

If there has been a weakness for Chicago on defense, it has been the ground attack. Last season they allowed 41% of rushes to be successful while this year that number is up to 46%. This is going to be a key test for the defense as they face a Packers offense that ranks top five in rushing efficiency.

The team has found a great dynamic between Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. Jones is quicker, shiftier and can explode with big plays in the passing game, Williams brings power and picks up all of the little needed yards. The combination is tough, especially when they can get on the field together.

On one hand, defended Jones in space is going to be a challenge. Roquan Smith is out and he has the sideline speed that can match Jones in space.

However, they get a huge piece back they may help them straight up the gut. Akiem Hicks is expected to play Sunday. When he has played in 2019, the teams run success rate falls below 40%.  He is immensely impactful against the run.

Does the arrival of Hicks offset the loss of Smith? We know Hicks can shut down Williams, will Jones be an explosive thorn in the Bears side? This will determine who wins and loses.
