Chicago Bears: Allen Robinson was snubbed from Pro Bowl
The Chicago Bears had a disappointing season after people expected them to potentially represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, but Allen Robinson was one of the players that had a Pro Bowl worthy season.
The Chicago Bears have sadly been officially eliminated from playoff contention following their loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. People and experts were expecting this team to come back this season winning the division and potentially representing the NFC in the Super Bowl.
The Bears currently sit at 7-7 so we can just chalk this season up as a nightmare after being expected to accomplish so much more this year. The Bears still have one of the best defenses in the league and the offense did not look too great at the start, but it finally came together over the last couple of games.
One of the few bright spots of this Bears offense is none other than wide receiver Allen Robinson. It seems that Mitchell Trubisky trusts Robinson more than any other receiver on the team. Robinson did hit the 1,000-yard mark this season and is the first Bears receiver to accomplish 1,000 receiving yards in a season since Alshon Jeffery did it back in 2014.
Pro Bowl voting has been taking place for a while now and the selections came out on Tuesday night. Only three Bears players made the roster, Khalil Mack, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Eddie Jackson. Don’t get me wrong, Mack, Patterson and Jackson all had solid years, but Robinson was arguably the best player on the Bears in 2019.
Therefore, Robinson is the definition of a Pro Bowl snub. He has played in all 14 games so far this season, has 7 touchdowns, 83 receptions with 1,023 receiving yards. If any Bears player deserves to represent them at the Pro Bowl, it should definitely be Robinson.
I understand that guys like Julio Jones, Michael Thomas, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin would be a grantee for the NFC Pro Bowl roster, but Robinson didn’t even get in as an alternate.
He is still an elite receiver in the NFL after having Blake Bortles and Trubisky has his quarterback. He deserves every bit of a Pro Bowl vote and definitely deserves to be there.
Robinson is by far the most underrated wide receiver in the NFL and Ryan Pace should give him an extension because he deserves every bit of it. In short terms, Robinson is a Pro Bowl snub and deserves to be there.
