With two games left for the Chicago Bears this season, one would hope Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy have already discussed the future of Mitchell Trubisky and the rest of the quarterback room. We revisit what Pace should do heading into the 2020 season.

The Chicago Bears 2019 season has reflected Mitchell Trubisky’s performance. I am not going to say Trubisky is at fault for the team’s struggles. Well, at least he is not alone. Many contributing factors have led to the Bears being 7-7 at this point in the season. The good news is that the team never quit and should still be a contender going into 2020.

Mitchell Trubisky has had some wow moments that make you think, damn this kid has something waiting to be unleashed. Other moments you scratch your head and wonder what he was thinking. Everyone seems to be comparing him to Jay Cutler. If we have “good Jay” we will win everyone would say. However, if “bad Jay” shows up we are doomed.

I am here to say that I do not believe Trubisky is that guy. At least not yet. The jury is still out on this one as the quarterback will be going into his third year (2020) of the same system. I have pointed out why this is important when I compared Trubisky to other prominent quarterbacks.

Ryan Pace has more decisions to make than just worrying about Trubisky though. He has a backup quarterback to decide what to do with as well as their third-string guy who constantly sits on the practice squad (as most third-string quarterbacks do). Do you trust Pace to make the right decisions regarding this position? My guess is most will say no, but honestly, I am on board.
