Dante Fowler, Jr. (OLB), Rams

During the offseason, Dante Fowler, Jr. signed a one-year deal to return for what was to hopefully be another Super Bowl run. The jury is still out as the Rams have a chance at the playoffs, but the chances are very slim.

Fowler is a former first-round pick similar to Leonard Floyd. The big difference is that Fowler went third overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fowler has had an up and down start to his career, but he has at least shown more flashes than Leonard Floyd has thus far.

As of right now, Fowler has nine sacks this season. That is three times as many as Floyd. Could you imagine what the Bears defense would look like if it provided that type of pressure every play? With a guy like Mack on one side, Fowler should have plenty of looks to get to the quarterback. Fowler sees great success because he plays near Aaron Donald. Donald is like Mack and that skillset allows others to be free to the quarterback.

Fowler’s current deal was worth $14 million dollars. Would he take on a similar contract only instead of a one-year deal, Pace could offer him a two or three-year deal. As a player who has yet to turn 26 yet, Fowler is definitely a free agent I’d prefer a longer-term deal for since his addition would make the Bears pass rush one of the scariest in the NFL.
