Morris Claiborne-Kansas City

As a former first-round player, Claiborne is just 30 meaning he has something left. He could step in and play right away. Claiborne has spent his career with three teams starting out in Dallas, then moving to the New York Jets before finally winding up in Kansas City. Over his eight-year career, he has played in 85 games with 74 starts. He has picked up 7 interceptions during his career along with four fumble recoveries.

There are those that are going to balk at the thought of the Bears bringing in someone like Claiborne. After all, he has been on several NFL teams so something must be wrong with him, right? And isn’t he injured right now (he is currently nursing a shoulder injury and has been out for a couple of games) so why worry about bringing in someone that is injured? Well, despite the injury, Claiborne can still play and when healthy is a decent player.

When it comes to his ability to play, Claiborne still has a solid ability to tackle and play the run. His role has been much more of a reserve one as of late but if the Bears can get him in the right situation, they could utilize him to help temporarily shore up the spot opposite Fuller. If anything, they could probably get him on the cheap to help shore up the defense as a backup. Claiborne still has something left in the tank but will it be enough to interest the Bears? We will find out as the offseason is about to begin.
