Next up for the Chicago Bears is a player that has not seemed to receive the same type of attention as the first two names on this list. Sam Ehlinger is the quarterback for Texas who has quietly put together a solid season for the Longhorns. As of now, Ehlinger has yet to declare for the 2020 NFL Draft, but he has started a fact-finding mission to determine his draft advisory grade.

If Ehlinger declares for the draft, he is likely going to be drafted somewhere between rounds four and six. If the Bears do not take a quarterback in the second round, Ehlinger could be a strong option on Day 3.

In his sophomore season, Ehlinger threw for 3,292 yards, while completing nearly 65 percent of his passes. Ehlinger threw 25 touchdowns and only five interceptions. He also ran for over 400 yards and scored a crazy 16 touchdowns on the ground. Yes, that’s 41 touchdowns and only five interceptions. Ehlinger and the Longhorns finished the year 10-4 and were second to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Conference.

This season has not been quite as good from a wins/loss record. The Longhorns found themselves third in the Big 12 with an 8-5 overall record. Ehlinger still had a very productive season for Texas though. He finished the season with 3,663 yards while completing 65.2 percent of his passes. He also threw 32 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while scoring seven more times with his legs.

Unfortunately, even though Ehlinger has not declared for the draft or announced he is going to go back to Texas for his senior season, there’s a strong possibility he will not be heading to the NFL next season.
