2. Jared Pinkney
Best NFL role: Versatile
Pinkney has a chance to be the most complete overall tight end of the group. At the same time, he could prove to be a player who is good at everything but does not excel at any one thing in particular.
Pinkney has the ideal size and frame to be a strong blocking option. However, he misses too many assignments at the second level and does not use his weight effectively. He can make contested catches and is a versatile route runner, but his receiving production tailed off in a major way from his junior to senior year.
He can create with the ball in his hands, but may not have breakaway speed. There are just as many questions as there are positives to his game.
All eyes are going to be on Pinkney this week after he broke out as a junior but brought just as many questions from his senior year.
