Chicago Bears: 5 Senior Bowl winners
3. Josh Uche, LB, Michigan
The question surrounding Uche heading into the Senior Bowl was what exactly is he? He was an outside linebacker or edge defender for Michigan. However, he is a bit undersized for the NFL to be a full-time edge.
So, is he a blitzing linebacker? Is he a tweeter, or is he versatile? That was the question, and we got a bit of an answer. Uche played off of the football during the week and flashed in coverage against tight ends.

He also had multiple sacks in the game blaring off of the edge with speed. Uche showed us this week that he may not be a full-time edge or a full-time linebacker, but his versatility helps.
Uche is a player Bears fans can look into because Leonard Floyd is due an extension and Danny Trevathan maybe let go.
Next year, Uche and Floyd can play together and mesh well. They can interchange blitzing and off-ball duties and Floyd has length and size, while Uche has power and speed. Uche could replace Trevathan, he could cut into the need for Floyd and allow Floyd to play off of the ball more.
He also could be depth at both positions. His versatility and ability to defend tight ends and rush the passer has to be noted as valuable in today’s NFL. The Bears should take notice with a couple of versatile defenders on the roster already.
