Should the Chicago Bears sign Brent Urban, or let him walk in free agency?

The Chicago Bears added Brent Urban after the Tennessee Titans released him last season. Urban closed out the year with Chicago, playing in the final nine games of the year. The Bears had an interest in him, but now he enters free agency.

Did the Bears see enough from Urban in this time to re-sign, or did they see enough to want to walk away?

Stay

Urban came in and had 11 run stuffs in nine games, from PFF. All of his tackles went for failed plays, a pretty impressive run defense rate. The Bears saw something they liked in him, and while he did not blow anyone away,  he did his job, and that is all that you can ask for.

He already decided to sign in Chicago after being let go and did not increase his value in a big way. Beyond that, the team is likely to lose some depth, as Roy Robertson-Harris is a free agent. Akiem Hicks is healthy, but not getting younger. Keeping a depth name at that spot around will help.

Go

Urban had three total pressures, and one quarterback hit in 82 pass-rush snaps. He was fine against the run but brought nothing against the pass. Urban will be 29 next year, so overall, he is who he is.

If the Bears are going to need to replace Robertson-Harris, they need to find some pass rush value in their depth. The most they can guarantee to Urban is a trip to training camp, nothing more.
