Chicago Bears: Derek Carr hints at a reunion with Khalil Mack
Derek Carr posted a picture with Khalil Mack on Instagram that showed them embracing. Could this be a sign that a reunion is on the horizon for the two former teammates? Maybe Carr was hinting at something bigger such as a message to the Chicago Bears brass in case they’re looking for a solidified backup or upgrade to their quarterback position.
Derek Carr almost broke the Chicago Bears internet fandom with his Instagram post. It was a picture of him and Bears superstar Khalil Mack hugging with the caption that read “megapowers.” To add more fuel to the fire there was another tweet by Carr’s brother The Instagram post by Carr raised many eyebrows and much speculation.
Could the Bears and Raiders be discussing a potential trade when the NFL season officially kicks off in March or could this merely be a post about BFFs? The Bears are in need of a backup and if Carr is hinting at a reunion with Mack then I’m all for it. There would have to be some strategically and even potentially risky moves by Ryan Pace but this wouldn’t be the first time he has taken that above-mentioned risk. If Pace were to pull off the trade it could be that much-needed spark in the Bears quarterback room.
Let’s say that Mitchell Trubisky is still with the team after the Bears hypothetically make the trade with the Raiders. This would be good for Trubisky. It would give him a much-needed competition. Maybe that would spark a resurgence that would hopefully result in him playing his best football. Then again maybe Carr is brought in as the backup and could be there to clean up the mess if Trubisky flutters.
Whatever the case may be it appears that there is a lot of discussions going on within the walls of Halas Hall. If I were to guess I would think that there is something behind the picture that Carr posted. This merely is a discussion or maybe Carr is hinting that he would like to land in Chicago if the Raiders decided to deal him. The official start of the season is less than a month away and things are already beginning to heat up.
