3. Brycen Hopkins, Purdue, 6’4″, 245 pounds

Hopkins has football blood, with his dad, Brad playing in the NFL as an offensive tackle. His son is a bit more athletic as a tight end.

Hopkins is a pure pass-catching option at this point. He has good speed and can run well after the catch. However, he has had issues with contested passes, he has drop issues at times, and when has to contort his body, issues can be found.

Beyond that, Purdue hardly used him to block. Often they brought in an extra tight end to block so that he could stay positioned out wide.

So, this will be a big week to see how versatile Hopkins is. He put on weight between the Senior Bowl and Combine, how well can he test at a bigger size? Then, does he bring any blocking upside, or is who he is? We will find out this week.
