Jon Runyan, G/T, Michigan, 6’4″, 306

Runyan is a fascinating case. He has football blood, as his father went to Michigan and was a Pro Bowl NFL tackle. He has experience as a starting left tackle in the Big 10 as well.

However, he does not have the physical traits that match the bloodline. His length already came in below the standard for NFL tackles, and a move to guard was expected, but all but confirmed early into the NFL combine.

Still, the Bears need depth at guard, and with plenty of experience and NFL bloodlines, he could be a solid locker room addition in the late rounds.

The question for Runyan now is how athletic he is? There is being below average in athleticism by NFL standards, and then there is not being athletic enough to play in the NFL.

The question for Runyan is whether he has enough athleticism to bet on him. If there is a player to bet on late, it is Runyan. These tests will help us understand if it is worth it.
