Chicago Bears: 10 players to watch in free agency
8. Greg VanRoten, IOL
Gren VanRoten is a former UDFA for the Green Bay Packers. He bounced around the NFL and even spent some time in the CFL. However, in 2017, he finally stuck on with the Carolina Panthers. In 2017, he was a depth player, but through 2018 and 2019, he became a starter for the Panthers and did a solid job at guard.
Now, he enters free agency after coming off of the best year of his career. VanRoten is 30 with two years of starting experience and is a guard. He is not going to get paid much. However, a team like the Bears has to be interested.
This is a veteran who can place hold for a rookie or could come in and be looked at as a starter next season. VanRoten is a bit of a diamond in the rough right now. If the Bears have a keen eye, they could be able to find some value.
