Chicago Bears: 10 players to watch in free agency
5. Jordan Jenkins, Edge rusher
Could Leonard Floyd’s old teammate come in and threaten to take his job in Chicago five years later? Jordan Jenkins was a third-round pick in the same draft as Floyd. However, he has 22 sacks, which is more than Floyd to this point. His sacks by year have gone up from 3 to 4 to 7 to 8, showing progress every year.
Jenkins has also been a solid run defender from the start and has gained pass rush as he has played in the NFL.
Jenkins is an excellent fit for Chicago because he could play across from Floyd if they keep him in a rotation, and can fit well across from Khalil Mack. The pressure on Floyd could bring out the best in him, and the depth that Jenkins brings to the table would make this a strength on the roster.
Jenkins is an edge rusher who is being underrated with big names on the board right now. If the Bears can sneak in and add another Georgia Bulldog, it could be an excellent value signing.
