Tom Brady – Free Agency

The first option is Tom Brady. We know this is very unlikely, but I have to list him anyway. As of the time of me writing this, Brady has come out and made it clear he is not returning to the New England Patriots. Now the question remains, what team will he choose?

Early reports are saying he has received significant offers from both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and also the Los Angeles Chargers. The numbers are to be around $30 million dollars per season. I am not sure how Brady is worth that much at this point in his career, but if one of those teams wants to pay him that much, feel free.

This, of course, means that the Chicago Bears should not be in the conversation then. The team would need to make some drastic changes to have a chance at enticing Brady to come to Chicago. Pace obviously does not have that much salary cap available. Who could he or would he cut to bring in the 43-year-old quarterback? The answer should be no one. I am sure fans would love to see him here in a Bears uniform, but Brady would cause the team to lose significant assets.

Seeing Brady under center for the Bears would be exciting, however, it is not the right move to create long-term success. The hope was he would go to the Raiders, now I hope he goes to the Bucs. If he ends up with the Chargers it might not play out as well for the Bears. The good news is that early rumors are saying Bucs over Chargers.
