During the 2017 season, Nelson Agholor revitalized his career when he switched to slot receiver. The former 20th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft logged just 648 yards in his first two years of the league. After the switch to slot receiver, he posted back-to-back 700+ yards seasons with a combined 12 touchdowns.

How does this pertain to the Bears? Anthony Miller had a breakout year in 2018. The rookie from Memphis hauled in 423 yards and crossed the goal line seven times, all that despite having a separated shoulder for most of the year. And while his yards-per-receptions remained roughly the same last year, Miller’s production dropped off.

He hauled in 656 yards but had just two touchdowns. Tight ends were Nick Foles’ favorite target during his time with the Eagles, but Nelson Agholor was a close second. In 2017, he was targeted 22 times in six games and in 2018, 36 times in five games. And while his sample size last year was limited, he targeted Dede Westbrook 18 times in four games.

Miller battled shoulder injuries once again in 2019, which contributed to his slow start. Now that Taylor Gabriel has been released, Miller is primed for a big 2020, and hopefully, he remains injury-free.
