What does the Chicago Bears depth chart at quarterback look like heading into the NFL draft?

The major rush of free agency is over, so where does the Chicago Bears roster stand with just three weeks to go until the NFL Draft? We knew that they were going to make changes to the quarterback position, what does the depth chart look like?

1. Nick Foles

This is going to fire many people up, but the call will be made at some point. There is no doubt that as of right now, the Chicago Bears will give Mitch Trubisky every chance to win the starting job. However, while this may be more of a prediction, if Nick Foles is healthy, count on him to start week one. The issue for Foles has been durability. When healthy, he has handled an offense well. At least better than Mitch Trubisky. Foles has been there and done that, and unless Trubisky shows great progression, he likely will be dethroned for the first time in two seasons. Of course, that does not mean he is done with the Bears quite yet.

2. Mitch Trubisky

Trubisky is going to have a hard time beating out Foles, but as mentioned, health is a serious issue for Foles. Foles also has a small sample size, and things could fall apart on him as well. Trubisky has to show up ready to win a job, and if he does not, he has to be ready to come in at any given chance. This will be a competition and both quarterbacks have a good chance of seeing the field at some point.

3. Tyler Bray

Of all of the possible third quarterbacks, Bray is one of the least inspiring. The Bears had a chance this offseason to completely flip their quarterback room and bring the heat to Trubisky. Bray was not quarterback competition for Chase Daniel, let alone Trubisky or Foles. The Bears should use every last resource getting the most out of their quarterback room.

The Bears very well may draft a quarterback, but they have only taken three quarterbacks into training camp in each year of the Pace/Nagy combination. Even if they do draft a quarterback, they should have tried to find better competition in a veteran third quarterback. Drew Stanton, Trevor Siemian, Geno Smith, and Matt Moore all stand out as better options.
