Chicago Bears: Seven-Round Mock Draft proving Bears must trade back in 2020
With the 183rd Pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select Stephen Sullivan, tight end, LSU. Sullivan played second fiddle to Thaddeus Moss (Randy Moss‘ son) this season. That said, he has some solid upside. Although Moss projects as the higher upside player, Sullivan has some receiving ability.
Sullivan has a solid route tree. He does well on seam routes and is able to make cuts on shorter routes efficiently. He has solid hands too. He is able to pull in contested catches as well. Although he lined up in-line for LSU, he is not the best blocker. That said, I think he would make a great addition to the tight end room. Yes, I know they have a plethora of tight ends, but I could easily cut it down to 5-6 guys and Sullivan would find himself in the fifth or sixth spot.
With Trey Burton likely out the door in 2021, Sullivan could be a solid backup to Jimmy Graham for another year and then hopefully take over.
Meet Nick Williams‘ replacement. With the 196th overall pick, the Chicago Bears take Raequan Williams, defensive tackle out of Michigan State. What is crazy is how Raequan Williams is nearly identical in size to Nick Williams. They are both 6’4″ and just slightly over 300lbs. Not to mention, they both have the same last name. Could the equipment manager just give Requan, Nick’s jerseys?
Raequan Williams is a true technician. He lacks explosiveness at times and takes some plays off at times too. He is a strong run defender but can also find his way in the backfield through his hand techniques and secondary moves. Williams proved he is more than a run defender with his five sacks last season. He also has averaged more than half a tackle for loss each game. Raequan Williams also has the versatility to play both defensive tackle and end if needed.
