Chicago Bears Draft: Will Ryan Pace do the unthinkable?
Will the Chicago Bears and Ryan pace trade up?
What if all of the hard work the Chicago Bears and company dedicated to finding those perfect two second-round options turn out to be a pipe dream. Ryan Pace has never traded back with his first draft selection yet. So I had him staying put in another article. But that’s me thinking of soft Ryan Pace. The one who chooses Roquan Smith and Kevin White instead of going up to get his guy Quention Nelson and Amari Cooper.
Last year many predicted Pace to stay put because he had limited draft capital to be able to get his guy. Pace being Ryan Pace traded up with the New England Patriots to get David Montgomery. What is stopping Pace from going to get his guy again?
The Chicago Bears have two second-round picks, a fifth-round pick, two sixth round, and two seventh-round drafts picks. He has all of his draft picks next year so far, one in every round. Pace and the Bears are also currently projected to gain a few compensatory draft picks between round five and round seven. Ryan Pace is the type general manager that likes to get interaction from his potential draft picks before selecting them.
He is also very secretive with who he is targeting in a more severe fashion. He plays the game at times of checking on players for the future in case they become available to him in later years. All we have this year is video chat leaks, minus one top 30 visit that happened before everything was shut down and one workout that occurred. T
here could have been more that weren’t on the radar or that haven’t been leaked just yet. It will always take two to get a deal down. So who are some of the teams that might be intrigued by adding more bodies?
