What will Ryan Pace do this draft?

Ryan Pace was asked about the depth at the cornerback position for the Chicago Bears, and he felt that you could never have too many players at that position. He did address how he likes the additions of both corner and safety but stressed that cornerback is a position that should have a lot of depth.

When talking about the safety position, Pace added that having a player like Eddie Jackson back deep helps shore up weaknesses at the other safety position. Just based on how less detailed he was with that answer, I would expect some new movement at some point but likely not early.

Ryan Pace did add unsolicited information on how the edge defenders can never have enough depth as well. Typically when a person brings up information about something that wasn’t even in the topic, that person is either thinking of that specific thing or its Ryan Pace putting out some smokescreens for not just tackle but edge defender as well.

Pace wants to build for now and the future with every draft. He does not want to get caught up in grabbing too many win-now players and forget about the future. More general mangers should think this way.

Ryan Pace loves the depth of the wide receiver core and stressed that is why you take the best player available because it allows you to make moves like releasing Taylor Gabriel while having Riley Ridley sit and learn for a year. The main concern fans will have with this is, how do the Chicago Bears compete without Gabriel’s speed?

Ryan Pace brought up a pool of players and sounded very excited about how he has two second-round selections this year. He brought up how the team could trade back if needed and how they could trade up if they have a conviction on a player. Pace shared how this draft is deep in talent, but never said how deep he thinks it is. There was a sidebar on how he felt the tight ends in this draft are excellent.
