The Chicago Bears do not have a first-round pick, but they do have two second-rounders. Rather than do just another mock draft, here are tiered rankings to follow when you watch the 2020 NFL Draft this week.
It is 2020 NFL Draft Day everyone! Get up and get excited — even if the Chicago Bears do not have a pick tonight. Before I started analyzing the Chicago Bears, I used to focus my NFL analysis on fantasy football. I would focus on articles that were geared towards weekly analysis on who to start or sit. I would write articles on fantasy draft sleepers and busts to look out for. Another area I would focus on would be coming up with tiered fantasy rankings.
These tiers would allow fantasy owners to draft the best player available that might also fit a need. For example, if you already have enough running backs on your roster, but need a wide receiver, then you might want to drop down a tier to the next best receiver if none are left in the highest tier of available players. It also allows you to grab a player you might not “need”, but will have a better opportunity of helping you win with his talents or through a trade.
Using tiered rankings is far better in my opinion than just ranking players one through whatever. I was looking through multiple mock drafts today and it dawned on me that there is very little overlap between them. From a positional standpoint, there are usually four to five positions we see linked to the Chicago Bears, but specific players not so much.
With my background in tiered fantasy rankings, I thought it would be a good idea to come up with tiered rankings of the 2020 rookie draft class that could be around in the second-round or drafted earlier (in case guys fall). These rankings will be slightly geared towards the Bears. Think of it as a tiered big board that may be more than just rankings. It should also be noted that those within the same tier are not necessarily in any order of who is best and so-on.
First up, the players who have no shot at falling.
