Rounds 2 and 3 – Staying Put

The Chicago Bears added a cornerback that many felt should have been drafted in the first round. Now, this was an excellent spot to trade down honestly. With players like Trevon Diggs, Kristian Fulton, and Jaylon Johnson still on the board, I would have liked to see Ryan Pace attempt to move back a few slots to gain some additional firepower for later. One of my draft mates was pounding the table for Jeremy Chinn and was slowly talking me into it. But it seemed wise to grab a cornerback here.

In a few of my mocks, I had the Chicago Bears selecting the BPA on their board. I feel they did just that. I don’t know the excuses for why Diggs and Fulton fell, but Johnson has an injury history. The Chicago Bears took advantage of that earlier than I expected.

I figured someday three guys like Natane Muti and Tyler Biadasz might be worth the risk. They selected a corner who played through a lot of injuries yet was still playing at a very high level. Just imagine what he can do full strength. He could potentially become better than Kyle Fuller.

There was that long wait during day one of the draft and again the long wait to day three of the draft. I felt that was best since day three picks are Ryan Paces bread and butter. I had more leaked information about day three players than ever for the Chicago Bears. I figured he was just going to make sure he drafted the correct players in rounds five and six. But instead, Ryan Pace had a few more bold moves in him. Honestly, that was great.
