Cornerbacks

Kyle Fuller, Jaylon  Johnson, Buster Skrine,
Duke Shelley, Kevin Toliver, Tre Roberson, Kindle Vildor (7)

Here was a glaring hole for the Chicago Bears. Kyle Fuller is obviously penciled in as the starting cornerback on the outside. Opposite of him was Prince Amukamara, but Amukamara became a cap casualty. The other lock to make the final 53-man roster who was here last season is Buster Skrine. Skrine is the third corner who plays as the nickel corner.

Without Amukamara, who will start opposite of Fuller in 2020? The names we should keep an eye on are rookie, second-round pick Jaylon Johnson, CFL standout free agent Tre Roberson and last year’s spot-starter Kevin Toliver. My money is on Johnson getting the starting spot and Roberson being the third outside corner. This means Toliver will no longer be a starting option should one of the starting corners get hurt.

The team also through Kindle Vildor into the mix. The team drafted him in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft and that could be a sign he supplants Toliver on the depth chart. Only time will tell, but I do believe both make the final 53. To wrap up the seven cornerbacks I see the Chicago Bears holding onto is Duke Shelley. Shelley is going to be the backup to Buster Skrine most likely.
