Wide Receivers

Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller, Cordarrelle Patterson,
Riley Ridley, Darnell Mooney, Ted Ginn Jr. (6)

This is the position I wanted the Chicago Bears to focus on in the 2020 NFL Draft. That said, the two guys I wanted did not make it to No. 43. If Jalen Reagor or Brandin Aiyuk were available, I would have been screaming at the television if neither name popped up on the board.

Since neither were there, I was at least glad to see Pace agreed with my analysis that the team needed a guy to replace Taylor Gabriel. The problem is, I do not see Darnell Mooney as a game-changer in the way I viewed Reagor or Aiyuk. Clearly no one else did either as he was available in the fifth round. That said, he should still make an impact and who knows, could develop into something much greater.

Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller and Cordarrelle Patterson are locks to make the final roster. Riley Ridley should also be a lock as he was just drafted out of the fourth round last season. Since Ryan Pace traded up for Darnell Mooney, I cannot see him finding his way to the practice squad. That said, Ridley was not active for a length of time last season therefore anything is possible.

I only envision the Chicago Bears keeping six wide receivers on the 53-man roster. This means the last spot will be between Javon Wims, Ted Ginn, Jr. or any other receiver on the roster. Wims and Ginn will be the top two options in my opinion and based on how Wims performed last year I am giving the edge to Ginn for now.
