Larry Warford – OG

Well friends, we are going on a little over a week now since we wrote how Larry Warford needs to be a priority free agent for Ryan Pace and the Chicago Bears. Larry Warford is still on the market and the longer he is available, the more affordable he is starting to become.

If the Chicago Bears add Warford he would become the starting right guard over Germain Ifedi. I do not hate the Ifedi signing because I think he makes a better guard than tackle and this will help cut down his holding and offsides penalties. That said, Warford is better.

If the Bears were to add Warford and one of the next two free agents the team would instantly become a Super Bowl contender even with a quarterback competition brewing. Right now, they are strictly playoff contenders and far better than the national media wants to project.

Warford is the type of addition that could springboard the offense into what Matt Nagy has envisioned, but the team needs to act somewhat swiftly. Could Warford be had for less than a $6 million salary-cap hit in 2020 at this point? Maybe lower? It only takes one team to overpay and take him off the table though.
