Jaylon Johnson

The Bears used their other second-round pick on Jaylon Johnson, a cornerback out of Utah. This pick could be one of the steals of the draft, as many people had him ranked above first-round selections like A.J. Terrell and Damon Arnette. Johnson has the skill set to be a top corner in this draft, it all depends on his health. He has had some injury concerns, so he fell in the draft. Yet, if he stays healthy, the Bears could have found a cornerback for the future.

In terms of production for the upcoming season, it is very possible that Johnson establishes himself as the second cornerback behind Kyle Fuller. This would not only provide the Bears with a loaded secondary, but also with plenty of depth with Burns, Lucas, and Kevin Toliver.

The Bears addressed their pass rush this offseason, so that means more turnovers will be forced as opposing quarterbacks are making uncomfortable reads. Johnson being the ball hawk that he is will certainly be able to jump some reads and cause turnovers. He is also a quality tackler and can be strong in the run defense. The Bears had a lot of missed tackles from the secondary last year, so Johnson can help solve that issue.

The Bears have high hopes for Johnson, and they expect him to stay healthy and contribute to become a dependable player opposite Fuller. He could be in the running for Defensive Rookie of the Year if he can show out in his rookie year.
