The Chicago Bears can use their small bit of cap space left to bring in a solid veteran or two to add depth to the team.
The Chicago Bears still have a few holes on their team and can use some depth pieces to round out the roster. The offensive line, nose tackle, and inside linebacker can be considered areas in need of depth.
The Bears do not have a lot of cap space left, as it is only about $9.5 million. Yet, there are plenty of cheap options left in free agency who will most likely take a veteran contract. The Bears can find a quality player for a short-term deal that can either start or provide depth at some positions. There is ample veteran talent left in the free agency pool that the Bears could use to bolster their team for a playoff run.
Furthermore, we have not seen many teams make the post-June 1 cuts that usually happen this early in the month. There are plenty of players the Bears will be cutting to reduce the roster from 90 players to 53. That will help free up some more salary cap and who knows if some more interesting names pop up for Ryan Pace to sign. However, until then, we take a look at three veterans who are currently available who could still be signed by Chicago prior to September.
