The Chicago Bears defense will finish with the most sacks in the NFL

The Pittsburgh Steelers led the way last season with 54 sacks throughout the year. The Chicago Bears found themselves in 24th with only 32 sacks. This is a very low number for a defense that prides itself on getting to the quarterback and rosters one of the best sack specialists in the game in Khalil Mack.

Pittsburgh led the way in 2018 too as the defense finished with 52 sacks on the year. Back-to-back years as the league sacks leader is impressive. The Chicago Bears were not far off with 50 sacks as a team that season, but clearly the defense was unable to maintain those numbers like the Steelers did the last two years.

Part of the issue was Khalil Mack being double and triple-teamed most plays. This was attributed to Akiem Hicks going down with an elbow injury that kept him out most of the season. Leonard Floyd was a major disappointment too, but with the addition of Robert Quinn, the Bears defense might have the best front seven in football.

I am predicting the Chicago Bears not only rebound from their 2019 sacks debacle, but they outpace their 2018 season and lead the league with 55 sacks this year.
