After a disappointing 2019 season, the Chicago Bears look to bounce back to their 2018 form and compete for a division title again.

Most Chicago Bears fans were shocked by the 2019 season. After the promising 2018 season, fans expected the Bears to take a step forward in every way. They saw the 12-4 Bears roll through their schedule, play toe-to-toe with the former Super Bowl Champs, and expected it to come easy in 2019. Long story short, it didn’t happen.

The Bears struggled virtually everywhere on the offensive side of the ball. Every game seemed to be a new player to make a bone-headed mistake. The offensive line fell apart, the tight ends all got hurt, the receiving core had a dropping issue, and Mitchell Trubisky took a step back. Only Allen Robinson seemed to be unaffected by the major regression the Bears faced.

Head Coach Matt Nagy and General Manager Ryan Pace saw every issue on the offense: coaching, offensive line, tight end, wide receiver, quarterback play, and depth. They went to work in the offseason correcting every offensive issue.

The Bears made it a priority to improve on not only offense but also defense by adding Robert Quinn, Tashaun Gipson, Jaylon Johnson, and more depth players. Although the offense faced a huge regression, the defense faced a big one too.

Now for the 2020 season, all of the moves this offseason were made to make the team even better than the 2018 form. All the right pieces have to fall into place, as they always do, but if they do, this team will be a tough team to beat. Here are those four reasons the Bears can improve.
